Inscribed for Andrew and signed by the author.  In the northern English moor town of Moonwell, the residents practice a seemingly innocent Druid ritual of decorating a well on Midsummer's Eve. An American evangelist named Godwin Mann arrives, condemning the practice as paganism and winning over a sizable following. When Mann descends into the well to "exorcise" the ancient evil, a monstrous entity is released, emerging in Mann's form and corrupting the town from within.
