The Strand Magazine was a highly influential British monthly periodical published from 1891 to 1950, most famous for launching the widespread popularity of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. It was revived in 1998 as a quarterly mystery magazine based in the United States. Ronald Searle Illustrations on page 38 for the short story by Bernard Fergusson.
