The Strand Magazine was a highly influential British monthly periodical published from 1891 to 1950, most famous for launching the widespread popularity of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. It was revived in 1998 as a quarterly mystery magazine based in the United States.  Ronald Searle Illustration on page 80 for the Drug Traffickers of Egypt.  One of Wellington's Soldiers writes home from the wars.  Short story by Gerald Kersh.
