John Meade Falkner (1858–1932), celebrated author of Moonfleet, was also a notable poet whose work often blended ecclesiastical, historical, and topographical themes, with a 1933 posthumous collection published by Westminster Press. His poetry, often described as having a nostalgic or melancholic tone, covers subjects such as Roman villas, cathedral cities, and the changing seasons.
