A real historical figure known for her artistic talent and her intricate paper collages of flowers. Mary Delany was born in 1700 in England and lived until 1788. She was a highly skilled artist and a botanist who is best known for her series of botanical collages known as the "Flora Delanica."

Mary Delany began creating these collages in her seventies. She would carefully cut and assemble pieces of colored paper to create detailed and realistic depictions of flowers. Each collage required a great amount of precision and patience, as well as a keen sense of observation.
