Cuthbert Wilfred Frank Noyce (1917-62), schoolmaster, writer and mountaineer. One of the best British writer-mountaineers. Member of the 1953 Everest expedition. Killed climbing in the Pamirs. His books include: Mountains and Men (1947), Scholar Mountaineers (1950), South Col (1954), Poems (1960), To the Unknown Mountain (1962), They Survived (1962). 

Head of the school at Charterhouse; went to King's College, Cambridge, 1936, classical scholar Got a First in Classical Tripos Part 1.

Hardback, Green Cloth, Gold lettering and CUP logo on the spine, white endpapers, 86 numbered pages + 1. Pencil and pen inscriptions on front of endpaper.

Condition: Very Good - Some corner bruising, some minor stains to boards, browning endpapers.
